INT. A UNIVERSITY CLASSROOM. NIGHT. Elizabeth Bevarly and Lorena Peter sit in a screenwriting class in Louisville, Kentucky. Lorena is there because she wants to learn more about tightening plots for her novels. Elizabeth is there because she wants to see if she can adapt one of her books for the big screen. Instead, they end up working on new projects together.
After completing a handful of short scripts and a few forays into The 48 Hour Film Project (including work on the award-winning Behind the Mask), they write a short film, a full-length feature, a cable-oriented holiday romcom, and a television pilot. They're currently at work on a new feature film screenplay and are this close to finishing it. So, yeah. They've been able to work together without killing each other. That's a major plus for collaborators.
Anyway, movies seem to be in their blood. Lorena was born in Hollywood and was performing by the age of three. Elizabeth met her husband when both worked as teenagers in a movie theater. Their collision of writing worlds was probably inevitable.

About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Bevarly is the New York Times bestselling author of more than seventy books and novellas. She's been under contract with houses that run the gamut from Harlequin to Penguin-Putnam and has seen her work translated into two dozen languages and published in three dozen countries. Movies have been a passion even longer. She spent her formative years working in Louisville's landmark revival house, The Vogue Theatre, learning about life from everyone from Frank Capra to Lina Wertmüller. (And--all right--from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," too. She's the Magenta on the far right.) Learn more at www.elizabethbevarly.com.

About Lorena
Lorena Peter is an author, medical intuitive, and Reiki Master. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology. Since writing her first mystery novel 30 years ago, she has completed four more books. Her latest, The View from Afar, is available at major online retailers. The move into writing for the screen was a form of returning to her roots. After a misspent youth on the stage and television as a part of her family's act, she studied acting in New Jersey and voice in New York City. The challenges of graduate study lured her away from the singing, dancing, and acting career for which she had been groomed since childhood. During the past several years she has added working behind the camera to her resume. Learn more at www.lorenapeter.com.

About Bevarly Peter

Okay, fine. Here we are now. As you can see, our writing process involves a lot of both us talking at the same time. It also includes Elizabeth having complete control of the keyboard and Lorena pacing around the room a lot. (It includes a lot of Nutella, too, but we had the photographer crop that part out.)
